FAQ

is fmp ISO certified?

Yes. First Metals maintains an ISO 9001 certification. Currently, we are ISO 9001:2015 certified. We perform twice-yearly audits to ensure that we strictly maintain and adhere to ISO 9001 standards.

does fmp deliver?

Yes. First Metals does have an array of company vehicles, and we do deliver within a range of roughly 80 miles from our home location. Outside of that radius, we generally ship via 3rd party carrier freight company.

does fmp ship overseas?

Yes. First Metals already does and can ship overseas. Our sales and customer service teams would be happy to quote parts for you including shipping to any location.

can FMP design something for me?

No. Here at First Metals, we work with your designs, and can help you in the design process by producing prototypes and revisions. As a rule, we do not create designs for you, because of the liability associated with design failure. Our staff of experienced engineers is more than happy to review your designs and provide insight and recommendations for better performance or more cost effective manufacturing, wherein an engineering fee will be accrued, but ultimately, you are responsible for your own designs.

does fmp take walk-in business?

Yes. If you need something fabricated, you need only bring an idea drawn on paper for us to be able to quote your job the way you want it made. Make sure to include basic engineering information such as material type (steel, stainless, aluminum, etc), material thickness, detailed dimensions, and any finishes desired (painted, plated, anodized, etc.), and we will provide a quotation for price and lead time.

what does FMP need from me in order to quote a part or assembly?

The above question answers part of that. For more experienced people or professionals who are wanting a complete assembly quoted, we prefer to have CAD drawings and/or solid models with detailed requirements included. Make sure to include the documentation for any proprietary company standards you wish your parts to meet.
